Me in a nutshell
study politics, like to paint, go tramping...
What I can offer
Well, I am really keen to help make NZ a more sustainable place to live, and am looking for somewhere to direct my energy. Not sure exactly what I can offer but I think i am willing to do whatever really. I just want to get doing something.
What I want to learn
I am involved in a group that would like to see plastic bags and, if possible, disposable coffee cups eradicated from Dunedin. Wouldn't it be great to be the first completely plastic bag- and coffee cup-free NZ city?! So i'm keen to learn anything that can go towards making that happen.
Profession/Training
BA in poitics, currently doing my PGdip in politics also.

Hi Celia,

I've made you an admin of the site so feel free to make any changes you wish - If you're feeling inspired I also have http://www.noplasticbags.org.nz/ which I can give you the ftp codes to. Rob from dnation made us a logo which I haven't had a chance to update across any of the systems yet.

cheers,
Joshua

Hi, Celia,

How are you? Wanaka Wastebuster and Sustainable Wanaka is going to launch "Get Real" campaigns, the first issue for get real is Plastic Bag levy. Its a national wide electronic campaign get as much people sign up and email to MfE/supermarkets demand for a levy. I wonder if you can help as well. You can use your group as our supporting group, forward the link/email out and ask them support. Can you be supporting gruop? what should I name your group?

In the next months, we will also have sticker distribution campiagn, survey on customers, get real campaign's demonstration etc. Hope you and your member can help.

The website is in Chinese, sorry about that.

Some key points and step by step.
1. Noise to public/media by some campaign, action, can be something interesting as well. I doing a sticker distribution now in Wanaka.
2. Pressure to supermarket by customers and also our groups, also need media to report
3. press to government so that also aware this.
4. we create some program which they can join to, once they are in,make it a big noise/sucess, and they can not easy to leave it or go backward.
5. Lobby to govt to do some policy implementation.

I got some more stickers and I am happy to go with you on some supermarkets to distribute to people, I have a rough plan I leave comment to Joshua, u can have a look too.
Cheers
Angus
